Registration for all users within JabrrApp is as easy as a few basic steps. Due to JabrrApps seamless integration with the schools MIS - management information system, registration has never been this easy!
Simply register with your family code or one of your family’s student ID’s, and you will be presented with the MIS returned profiles. Select your profile, authenticate via the 2FA OTP One-Time-Pin, specify, and confirm a password, and that’s it!
Once you have logged in you will be presented with the appropriate data for you as a student or as a parent of a student i.e., all your classes and sports teams with the appropriate teachers and or sports coaches will already have been set up for you! This is the power of JabrrApp with its seamless Microsoft Teams integration.

Announcements form the landing page once logged into JabrrApp. Specific profiles of principal, teachers, sports coach, and office admin can create announcements including the attaching of documents but only to their role specific intended audience.
Voice notes can be recorded and sent via an announcement. An example would be a teacher creating an announcement for one of their classes where they are the teacher, similarly a sports coach creating an announcement for a specific sports team where they are the sports coach or a principal creating an announcement for the entire school which would include parents, or an announcement only to teachers.

JabrrApp is in a class of its own when referring to mobile applications. It is the only mobile app of Its kind which integrates seamlessly not only into the schools MIS - management information system, but into Microsoft Teams too!
JabrrApp provides the entire schooling community with a mobile app that encompasses multiple solutions, for all school communications needs.
80% of all schools in South Africa utilise Microsoft Teams as part of their desktop software. This makes JabrrApp their ideal unifying communications tool!

Classes in JabrrApp display the classes pertaining to a student, teacher or the parent/s of the student based on the students Microsoft Teams setup. Classes allow the user based on their specific roles the functionality to, but not limited to the following:

• Chat within the group chat with all class students, which seamlessly integrates, bi-directionally with Microsoft Teams
• View the teacher of the class
• Chat directly to the teacher (one on one) dependent on the teachers available set times
• View the class including its teacher, students, and parents

Sports displayed in JabrrApp display the sports teams pertaining to the student as well as providing the same access to the parent/s of the student. This is based on the students Microsoft Teams setup. Sports allow the user, based on their specific roles, the functionality to:

• View the sports coach of the sports team
• Chat directly to the sports coach
• View the sports team members
• View the parents of the sports team’s members

JabrrApp utilises target communication, so that intended information and communication is solely directly to its targeted audience. Information or communication will be directed only to a profile if the user is related to the announcement, voice message or communication being sent. For example, if a student belongs to the “Rugby U16” team, which is determined by the Microsoft Teams integration, then only information pertaining to the U16 rugby team will be sent by the sports coach, to that team. The same is relevant throughout JabrrApp for all classes and sports teams.

JabrrApp messaging consists of a unified page for easy access of all recent messaging between yourself and your contacts. The functionality for messaging consists of the following:

• Text messages within chat
• Voice notes within chat
• Images within chat
• Emojis within chat

JabrrApp contacts refers to users of JabrrApp that you as a contact may be connected to, in one way or another.

• A principal by default is connected to and can chat to users who are teachers, vice-principals, and office admin.
• A teacher by default is connected to and can chat to users who are teachers, vice-principals, and office admin
• Office admin by default is connected to and can chat with users who are teachers, vice-principals, and office admin
• Students by default are connected to and can chat to their parents, their teachers (set time permitting) and their sports coaches for the classes and sports teams that they are associated with via Microsoft Teams
• Students can connect and chat with other students and become contacts, but first need to go through an invite and acceptance process whereby a student requests a connection to another student via an invite. The invite needs to be accepted by the invited student before the invited student can become a contact of the requesting student. Once connected either student has the functionality to block as well as remove the other student, if so desired.

The ability to record a voice note and send it to one of your contacts exists within JabrrApp. This functionality is available within the chat functionality for all users and available in the announcement functionality for users who have the appropriate security roles, namely: principals, teachers, sports coaches, and office admin.

JabrrApp contains the functionality for a user to upload documents. This functionality exists within the announcements feature for a principal, teacher, sports coach, and office admin users. Parents can upload documents on behalf of their children consisting of a sick note, birth certificate and a permission slip document type.

JabrrApp utilises push notifications so that you the user will always be informed when there is information pertaining to you, or an action that required your attention. The red notification number will inform you on the various sections within JabrrApp as well as on the main JabrrApp Icon as to when and how many notifications are pending. This allows JabrrApp to inform you rather than you needing to check JabrrApp on a regular basis.

The Principal or Vice-Principal profile allows the user to create announcements which can be targeted towards the entire schooling community, specific classes, specific sports teams or to all teachers. The announcement could contain an attachment and/or a voice note in addition to the actual announcement. Creating announcements is limited to only a few selected profiles.

Further to announcements the principal profile has access to the following functionality:

• My Profile - allows the principal to set their profile picture and availability time i.e., the time window that the principal will be available for live communication via the chat functionality.
  
• My Classes - only displays classes where the principal is assigned as the teacher.
  
• My Sports - only displays sports teams where the principal is assigned as the sports coach.
  
• My Contacts - provides access to all teachers, sports coaches, any students belonging to a class that the principal teaches, office admin personnel and the vice-principal.
  
• Messaging - displays all current chat conversations as well as all chat history. A centralised area for chat access and chat management.

The Teacher profile allows the user to create announcements which can be targeted towards the classes or sports teams that the teacher is assigned to. Keeping in mind a teacher could also be a sports coach. The announcement could contain an attachment and/or a voice note in addition to the actual announcement.

Further to announcements the teacher profile has access to the following functionality:

• My Profile - allows the teacher to set their profile picture and availability time i.e., the time window that the teacher will be available for live communication via the chat functionality.
  
• My Classes - only displays classes where the teacher is assigned.
  
• My Sports - only displays sports teams where the teacher is assigned as the sports coach.
  
• My Contacts - provides access to all teachers, sports coaches, any students belonging to the teacher’s classes, office admin personnel and the principal and vice-principal.
  
• Messaging - displays all current chat conversations as well as all chat history. A centralised area for chat access and chat management.

The Parent profile displays information pertaining to the school’s general announcements which could be sent by the principal, a teacher of a specific class their child is assigned to, a sports coach of a sports teams their child is assigned to or an announcement from the office admin. The announcement could contain an attachment and/or a voice note in addition to the actual announcement.
Important to note is that the information the parent is privy to via JabrrApp is based on their child’s profile. I.e., the parent sees what their child sees, but doesn’t include the child’s chat messages.

Further to announcements, the parent profile has access to the following functionality:

• My Profile - allows the parent to set their profile picture and provides functionality if the parent wants to remain anonymous. I.e., the parent doesn’t want to be visible within the child’s classes or sports teams but would still like to see all functionality.
  
• My Kids - only displays the functionality pertaining to their child. Further functionality via “My Kids” available for the parents is as follows:
  

• Chat functionality with their child
• A view of the classes that their child is assigned to
• A view of the sports teams that their child is assigned to
• Document uploads for sick notes, birth certificates and permission slips
• To chat to the teacher of the classes their child is assigned to, restrictive to the hours that the teacher has set via their teacher profile
• A view of the parents of the children who attend the same class as their child
• A view of the children of the parents who attend the same class as their child

PLEASE NOTE: No parent has any communication functionality with any other child except their own child

The Student profile displays information pertaining to the school’s general announcements which could be sent by the principal, a teacher of a specific class the student is assigned to, the sports coach of a sports teams the student is assigned to or an announcement from the office admin. The announcement could contain an attachment and/or a voice note.

Further to announcements, the student profile has access to the following functionality:

• My Profile - allows the student to set their profile picture.
  
• My Classes - only displays classes that the student is assigned to.
  
• My Sports - only displays sports teams that the student is assigned to.
  
• My Contacts - displays the functionality pertaining to the student, which is as follows:
  

• My Invites - these are friend invites that the student has sent to another student. These invites need to be accepted by the invited student before both students can communicate via messaging. The invited student can also decline the invite, in which case the students won’t be able to communicate via messaging
• Pending Invites - these are friend requests that the student has received from other students and can accept or decline the requests
• My Parents - displays the student’s parents where the student can initiate a chat conversation
• My Teachers - displays the student’s teachers where the student can initiate a chat conversation, restrictive to the hours that the teacher has set via their teacher profile
• My Coaches - displays the student’s sports coaches where the student can initiate a chat conversation, restrictive to the hours that the sports coach has set via their sports coach profile

Messaging - displays all current chat conversations as well as all chat history. A centralised area for chat access and their management.

The Sports Coach profile allows the user to create announcements which can be targeted towards the classes or sports teams that the sports coach is assigned. Keeping in mind a sports coach could also be a teacher. The announcement could contain an attachment and/or a voice note in addition to the actual announcement.

Further to announcements the sports coach profile has access to the following functionality:

• My Profile - allows the sports coach to set their profile picture and availability time i.e., the time window that the sports coach will be available for live communication via the chat functionality.
  
• My Classes - only displays classes where the sports coach is assigned as the teacher.
  
• My Sports - only displays sports teams where the sports coach is assigned as the sports coach.
